SUMMARY:AAC Essentials for Communication
DESCRIPTION:Join our one day conference “AAC ESSENTIALS: What you need to know”\nTarget audience: SLP’s\, OT’s\, Caregivers\, EA’s\, Teachers and anyone who wants to learn more about using technology to support communication in children. \nConference description:\nParticipants will gain insights into current best practices for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) principles\, including supporting language learning across environments\, selecting vocabulary\, and fostering high engagement among AAC users. Additionally\, the presentation will cover advanced-level topics\, such as strategies to overcome barriers in AAC assessment and implementation through a coaching model. \n6 hours of professional development will be earned. Certificate will be emailed after the completion of the event. \nSpeaker Bio:\nRachel Madel\, CEO and Founder of Rachel Madel Speech Therapy Inc\, a private practice serving children in Los Angeles since 2014. She is also the co-founder and co-host of the AAC podcast Talking with Tech. Rachel presents both nationally and abroad on how to utilize technology to support children with communication needs. She is the founder of a digital media company that provides educational resources\, therapy materials and training videos to help support parents and professionals of children with complex communication needs. \n\nCost\n$275 CAD regular rate \n$250 CAD (early bird registration until FEBRUARY 2\, 2026) \n$225 CAD (groups of 5+ until FEBRUARY 2\, 2026) \nCaregiver and student rates available upon request.
